Welcome to my fundraising page. My name is Summer Yang and I am the co-candidate for Team Another Chance for the Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, 2023. I am honored to be nominated as a co-candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Greater Los Angeles campaign. This seven-week program that runs from January 19 to March 10, 2023 will raise funds to help support LLS’ mission of curing cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To do this, Team Another Chance needs your help. 

I am running in honor of the children and teenagers who have been impacted by cancer and my childhood friend, who I have known since kindergarten. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in middle school and left school for an extended period of time for her treatment. She and I developed an even deeper connection when she went through chemotherapy and started losing her hair because I was able to relate to it through my own health condition called alopecia (hair loss). Like all others, she lost a part of her life in the hospital, but luckily recovered. With this campaign, my wish is to raise money for cancer research to give other children another chance in life to gain back what they lost. 

Therefore, my team “Another Chance” composed of committed middle and high school students along with family and friends have set the fundraising goal of $300,000 during this seven week time frame. We need your support. We want to reach as many people as we can to give back what they lost. Any amount of support is truly appreciated and is tax deductible. I also wanted to share that  LLS has opportunities to be part of their digital program for support between $1,500 and $5,000 as well as sponsorships at the Grand Finale gala in the amount between $15,000 to $100,000.
