My name is Pierce Friden,  I am a 10th grader from Santa Barbara. I am choosing to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) because I have witnessed the impact of life-threatening illnesses through my mother’s work in hospice social services. During the pandemic, I often helped her to deliver medication and fresh produce to her patients, giving me firsthand insight into the challenges they faced. She has told me about the devastating effects of leukemia on both patients and their families, and I am committed to helping those burdened by these diseases. I became aware of the LLS campaign through my lifelong friend and Santa Barbara candidate, Evander Gibson, who invited me to join his team. I’m honored to support him in this important cause. Together, our team aims to raise $50,000 for victims of leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.
