I am beyond excited and honored to announce that I have been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year campaign! Beginning Thursday, February 9th, Team Confections for Cancer, my fundraising team, and I will embark on a 7-week journey to help find a cure for cancer. Our team name, Confections for Cancer, holds a special place in my heart as it connects my love of cake decorating and my baking business to a global issue I am passionate about. 

In September 2022, my grandfather lost his battle with multiple myeloma. Throughout his harsh chemotherapy and an intense bone-marrow transplant, he never failed to stay positive and look to the future. I know that the cause we are supporting with our project is one he would be overjoyed at! LLS has funded many of the drugs and therapies that helped my grandfather and millions of others fight their cancer, and this was only possible with the help of people like you. 

I don't wish for anybody to feel the grief and pain I felt when we lost him. This is why the revolutionary research that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is able to do is so important. My 7-week campaign will give LLS the opportunity to continue fighting this disease. But I cannot do this alone, I need your help. Together, with your help and support, we are looking forward to immense success with our campaign and reaching our $100,000 goal!
