Hi All,

Im happy today has finally come. The kick off to the 7 week campaign to rais funds for LLS.  I worked with my mom to make this happen. I thank everyone for hearing me out and supporting this great cause. Go LLS!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

I am passioante about this misson to cure cancer since it has personally affected me. My family and I have had a very long history with cancer. When I was four years old, my mom was diagnosed with cancer.  I didn't know it at the time, but we almost lost my mom. Even though I was only 4, I felt immense sadness seeing her sleep and look different. Luckily, she survived. Unfortunately, it wasn't the last brush with cancer our family would face.  My grandmother, both my grandfathers, and my mom's best friend all battled cancer in these past 10 years of my life. Sadly, my mom's best friend is no longer with us, and currently another lifelong friend is battling leukemia.

Throughout the time that my family and our friends fought the battle with cancer I felt helpless.  That is why when asked to be a Student Visionary for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a high schooler, I had to accept!  This would be an amazing opportunity to help fundraise for research and development for treatments as well as to help fund the co-pays of families in need.

I look forward to doing my part to help our world be a healthier place.
