Leah's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser Team Dreams Into Action
Hi everyone!
If someone asked you, “when was the last time you saved a life?”, would you be able to answer right away? Today, you have the chance to save the life of not just one person, but many people.
Let me introduce myself! Hi, my name is Leah Sachs and I have had the privilege of being nominated as a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) South Bay Student Visionaries of the Year campaign by my good friends and huge role models, Caeden Kim and Hayleigh Liu. Last year, I had the honor of being a part of their campaign to raise funds for LLS in an effort to cure cancer on their team, Footsteps of Faith. With their support, mentorship, and leadership, I am extremely humbled and excited to announce that I have accepted the candidacy. Today, I am here to ask for your support of my own campaign that I am leading alongside my classmate and friend, Hailey Kim. Hailey and I both attend Palos Verdes High School and met through the National Charity League’s Peninsula Chapter in 6th grade and we are excited to share this opportunity to save lives with you all.
You may know me from the Palos Verdes High School Varsity Song team, or as dancer at Motion State Studios, or as the daughter of Brooke and David Sachs!
Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from February 21st, 2023 to April 14th, 2023. Through this program, high school students across the nation create teams to raise money and help support the LLS mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Hailey and I have created a team of committed friends and family to partner with us on this journey. Together, we have set a fundraising goal of $100,000, and have chosen research as the LLS mission pillar we’d like to represent and support throughout our campaign. Money raised in this campaign helps LLS, advance initiatives like funding cutting-edge research and treatments for cancer.
By supporting LLS through their Student Visionaries of the Year program I know that I can begin to make a positive change within our community, but I cannot do it alone. My campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that, with your help, I can reach my goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers. I want to remind you all that this campaign is not about me or you, but it is truly about cancer patients all over the world, and their families, that need our help for a second chance at life. Your donation can truly be life-saving!
I thank you in advance for partnering with a campaign so close to my heart, and please remember, every bit counts. All donations are tax-deductible. To make your donation go further—check if your company matches charitable gifts.
I greatly appreciate your support and I hope we can all work together to make the world a better place for cancer patients.
Until there is a cure,
Leah Sachs
