Hello everyone,

What if I told you that a cure for cancer exists, but it's just a matter of finding it? Join me in the fight to end this disease once and for all. Your support can make all the difference in the world.

Cancer has been a constant presence in my life since I was a little kid. When I was six years old, my mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. We were fortunate in that she was surgically cured and no further treatment was required, but since then, I have seen the disease affect many members of my family and friends. In 2020, both of my grandmothers were diagnosed. The experience of watching them go through treatment and the fear of losing them was devastating. I watched with a heavy heart as they slowly lost their strength and vitality but kept their determination to survive. I couldn't do anything to ease their pain or stop their suffering. One of them, despite the treatments, ended up succumbing to cancer.  It was a heart-wrenching experience, one that I wouldn't wish on anyone. It has been a constant reminder of the cruel reality of cancer and how it can take away the people we love. It made me determined to learn more about the disease and find ways to help others who are affected by it, to make sure that no one else has to endure the same pain and loss.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Our team goal is to raise $100,000 between now and April 14th, 2023.
