Benny Adler and Ethan Dale here! We’re running for the 2019 Students of the Year Campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society (LLS). From January 12, 2019 to March 1, 2019 we are raising as much money as possible to beat cancer and win the Greater Los
Angeles Student of the Year title.

Why Ethan decided to run for Student of the Year? On Friday, November 13, 2015, my dad, Andrew Dale, was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This changed everything for my family, and was a very difficult time for all of us.
Watching my mother care for me and my sister, Zoe, while also tending to a cancer patient was heart-wrenching. If it weren’t for the support from our friends and family, the community supported meal plan, and the treatments my dad received, I don’t know what
would have happened. That is why I am raising money, to prevent that “what if?” from ever becoming someone’s “what now?”

Why Benny decided to run for Student of the Year? Tuesday, August 4th, 2018 Ethan called me and asked me to be his co-candidate for Student of the Year. Even though I only started to know Ethan at the tail end of his father’s fight with cancer, I still saw the struggle his
family had to go through. However, I have been inspired by their resilience and their choice to support others on their
cancer journey. I can’t help thinking whether or not this could happen to me and my family, or my friend and their families. I want to make sure that, if anyone else has to go through what Ethan’s family went through, LLS research gets them to the other side.

We are Dorks Against Cancer and we need your help in the fight to end all blood cancers! Our fundraising goal is to raise $35,000 in 7-weeks! It’s a big goal and we know that we can get there with your support. Every dollar you donate makes a difference.
