Hello friends and family, 

I hope you are doing well and staying safe. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been a huge part of my life these past few years and I am so excited to share with you the new challenge I will be taking on in the new year.

As some of you may know, my Dad, Greg Sinaiko, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in June of 2015 and relapsed in May of 2017. His couple of separate battles against Lymphoma over the past 5 years has had a major impact on my family and me. My dad has always been and will always be my honored hero. Seeing the battle that my Dad went through and its lasting impact on him and others who have fought the same battle, I was hoping to find a way to work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society here in Southern California.

As some of you may remember, last year I was a team member on Team Tackling Cancer. This year, I am a candidate and will be running my own multigenerational team. As a team, Team Dancers Ending Blood Cancers, we will be participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student of the Year that runs from January 27th - March 18th. We will be competing with other high school students across the Greater Los Angeles area during those 7 weeks to raise the most funds. I have set my team’s goal to raise $100,000. While this is certainly not a small goal, I know that I can do it with your help! 

As a young individual, I want to be the change we see in the world. By supporting LLS and Team Dancers Ending Blood Cancers in our journey to be the Student of the Year I know I can do that, but I cannot do it alone. I am proud to join the battle to cure cancer and I hope you will join me in this battle. I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?
 
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
