Kristi's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page, welcome!
My name is Kristi Ikemoto, a sophmore currently attending Yorba Linda High School CA. My teammate and friend Trevor Lee has been nominated and is currently a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Students of the Year 2021 Campaign. I have been asked to join his campaign team, Buckets Against Cancer, and will participate in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student of the Year Challenge (SOY). The SOY program is a philanthropic leadership development program for high school students in the greater Los Angeles area. Through this challenge, our team will work together to achieve our fundraising goal of $50,000 on behalf of LLS to find a cure for blood cancers.
My reason for joining this campaign is not only to support Trevor, but I believe that helping fundraise for a cure to cancer is a great cause. Despite currently living in a pandemic, we can still make a positive impact in our community which I also believe is something that everyone needs during these uncertain times. In addition, I have family members who have been diagnosed and battled many different types of Cancer. Many of my other relatives have professions involving treating patients who are battling with cancer.
This pandemic has been hard, especially on my family as within the first week of quarantine, my father was taken to the hospital after testing positive to the covid-19. There he remained for about a week or two, battling the virus alone. During that time none of us were able to visit him in the hospital and eventually couldn’t call or even text him for it was too much energy for him. April 2nd, we received the most devastating call of our lives. He had passed earlier that morning. The grief and mourning my family went through was unimaginable. Although not cancer, it was devastating and I would never want anyone to have to go through the hardships my family and I went through whether it is battling cancer or losing a loved one to it.
I hope that supporting my team in our campaign to support finding a cure has come to your interest. There are many ways you are able to support us-
1) Donate to this fundraising page
a. Donation in the form of cash or checks will also be accepted
2)Buy our team tshirt (check out post above)
3) Share my message and fundraising link with other contacts or social media
4) Donate a silent auction item that can be used for the Grand Finale Gala auction
5) Help me secure a corporate sponsorship (Sponsorship start at $5000 and come with many recognition and marketing benefits) If your company does matching gifts, then that can help our our campaign also
Any donations will be greatly appreciated!
Again, thank you for visiting my website, feel free to share it with anyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. My team and I encourage you to join us in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by making a donation to our fundraising campaign!
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Kristi Ikemoto
All donations are tax-deductible.
