My Misson
Dear Friends and Family,
I am thrilled to share with you that I have been nominated to be a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year program! As a Student of the Year candidate, I will be coming alongside the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money for this great cause. My fundraising team name is “Liv Strong”.
My dad’s mother, Winona Stradley, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma when he was in high school and unfortunately did not survive due to the lack of affordable treatment. While on the other side of my family both my aunt and uncle were diagnosed with Leukemia however only my uncle survived it. That’s where LLS is stepping in to make a difference. Unfortunately, more than one-third of blood cancer patients still do not survive five years after their diagnosis, but that is where LLS is making a difference. They have invested more than $1 billion in research since its inception. Over that time, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled.
On January 16, we will be launching our seven week-long campaign to raise awareness and money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our goal is to raise a whopping $50,000 by the Grand Finale Gala on March 6th! If this goal is reached, we will receive an LLS funded research portfolio to be named in honor or memory of a loved one.
I want to be a part of the solution, helping to find a cure for blood cancers. LLS’s mission to find cures, spread awareness of these diseases, and fund life-saving research has inspired me to take part in this battle against cancer. I invite you to join my fight to save lives. Let’s conquer cancer together! Although it will be challenging to reach, with your help we can do it! Every donation makes a difference.
You can join Liv Strong and help us out by one of the following ways:
-
You can write a check to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and use the enclosed envelope to send to 2940 N Mountain Ave, Claremont, CA 91711. Please be sure to write my name on the memo line.
-
You can sponsor the Students of the Year’s Grand Finale Gala and receive partnership benefits from LLS. Just ask me how.
-
You can donate an auction item that will be auctioned off at the Grand Finale Gala.
-
You can follow my campaign on our Facebook page
-

All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!
I would like to thank you in advance for helping me make a difference and supporting my campaign. If you have any further questions about how you can get involved and be part of finding a cure, please do not hesitate to contact me or my mom, Heather Stradley. I have put our information below (:

Welcome to Olivia Stradley's SOY Fundraising Page!
I am honored to participate as a candidate for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am raising critical dollars in honor of my Grandmother Winona who sadly passed away after being diagnosed with Non-Hopkins Lymphoma. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, I thank you for your support! ❤️
