Welcome To My Fundraising Page.

Since Ihave been a little kid, I have grown up watching my mom volunteer, fundraise, and be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I remember my mom leaving early in the morning while I was still sleeping to go work with her Team and Training group where she trained runners to run marathons to raise money to find a cure. I helped my brother prepare for his own Student of the Year campaign when I was just in middle school.  I got to meet survivors and volunteers that did so much to give back. This has made a major impact on my life watching my family always working so hard for this organization no matter how busy they were with their own lives. They knew cancer doesn't wait for anyone to find time to find a cure. Busy doesn't matter. 

I have been nominated for Student of the Year. I am very honored for this opportunity and to be a part of this outstanding program. I will be running with my friend Olivya Sessing. We grew up dancing together and sharing the same passionate dreams. She is now my partner as we take on this challenge together.

One of Olivya’s childhood best friends was diagnosed with leukemia on the first day of her junior year. As 2021 saw things finally getting back to normal, this was not the case for her. Instead, she was being rushed to Children’s Hospital to start the biggest fight of her life.

I was not born yet when my grandmother fought her own battle. I am too young to have known family members who have lost their battles.  I do know this.  It just isn’t ok.  If I can do my small part so no child has to lose a parent, and no parent has to lose a child.  I will find time.

I have learned a lot the last couple of years through the COVID-19 pandemic as the world has plunged into unprecedented times. So many things got canceled; school, graduations, weddings, birthdays, dance competitions, proms, and family holiday celebrations.  However, the one thing that hasn’t gotten canceled yet is cancer.  Cancer doesn’t care whether we are in a lockdown or what is on our schedule that day.  Cancer doesn’t care, but cancer should care because Olivya and I promise to put all our effort into canceling cancer! 

The goal leukemia and Lymphoma Society is truly change the face of cancer and research. The survival rate of researched blood cancers has more than doubled. My 7-week campaign from February 17th to April 8th will give LLS the opportunity to continue fighting this disease. LLS has invested over $1.2 billion in research to date. Along with my team, I will work to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure. The treatments developed for blood cancers are now helping people affected by many different types of cancers. My campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in fighting these diseases.

My goal together with Olivya and our team DANCERS CANCEL CANCER, is to fund a research grant. Because let’s keep it real, it is time for cancer to be canceled. Now, Olivya and I are ready to take on more than ever before with our team goal set at $100,000. We know that we can do it. But, we need YOUR HELP!
