Today, 1.4 million Americans are fighting or are in remission from blood cancers and every 3 minutes another person unwillingly joins the fight. I have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the battle and help those living with blood cancers. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has nominated me as a candidate in their 8th annual Students of the Year fundraising challenge, and I could not be more excited to make a difference in the lives of patients across the country. I am proud to lead my campaign team and work towards our goal to raise $100,000 during the next 7 weeks - from February 17TH to April 8TH.  

The reason I am running my campaign is because my friend and teammate’s family has been personally affected by cancer in the past. Cancer is brutal, and ruins the lives of not only the people who battle it, but also their families. I know what it feels like to have someone close to me facing the hardships of cancer, and I do not want anyone else to be in that position. By raising money through LLS, I am able to aid with blood cancer research, which is used to treat almost all types of cancer. I am also able to provide money for the education and support of patients and families. 

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
