Hi everyone, my name is Finley Quintard and I am so excited to share with you about LLS!

2020 was a tough year for everyone, but for three people in my life it has been beyond difficult. My cousin Hillary, her boyfriend, Travis, and my Aunt Julie, were all diagnosed with Leukemia or Lymphoma in the past year. When I was invited to join one of my best friends in a fundraising campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) the answer was easy. I knew that after all my family had been through this year, I had to do my part to fight blood cancers. I’m excited to announce that our team has decided to dedicate our campaign to Hillary and Travis in a very special effort to make a positive difference in the world by raising funds to support blood cancer treatment. 

I am a part of Team Illuminate, made up of fourteen teens and adults, in the 2021 Student of the Year campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a seven-week fundraising campaign that lasts from April 5 - May 22. I will be sending weekly emails to keep you updated on our progress. Team Illuminate and I are working hard to reach our fundraising goal of $100,000! I have set a personal goal of at least $10,000, and Hillary, Travis and Aunt Julie are my inspiration!

One way you can help is by making a donation to LLS is through this fundraising page. All donations are 100% tax deductible. (LLS’s Tax ID # is 13-5644916). All funds raised will support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, whose research is making strides in treatments across the cancer spectrum. In fact, nearly 50% of all new cancer treatment drugs approved by the FDA since 2005 first began as blood cancer treatment, and are now being used to treat other forms of cancer! The creativity that is happening in LLS-funded trials is impacting the future, and I am proud to join the battle to cure cancer.
