What really motivated me to join this campaign and LLS was my grandmother who recently passed away. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer and this news was very demotivating for everyone. Despite all the constant pain and hospitalizations she faced, there was always a smile on her face. Her perseverance and courageous attitude led me to believe that cancer is defeatable. I believe that cancer research by LLS will truly revolutionize blood cancer diagnosis and treatment and will alleviate patients experience with cancer. No one should face the amount of pain my grandmother faced, therefore I am part of LLS' mission and a proud member of the Student Visionaries of the Year program.
