My name is Alanna, and I am currently a sophomore at Pascack Hills High School. It's truly an honor to be part of the Student Visionaries of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2024 Greater Phoenix campaign.
In the upcoming seven weeks, our team, Dreams Beyond Cancer, and I will be dedicated to raising awareness and funds for LLS, striving towards the ultimate goal of curing blood cancers.
More than a million Americans are diagnosed with a form of blood cancer, and every nine minutes, one of them will lose their battle. After volunteering this summer at a medical center in Arizona, I witnessed firsthand how this disease affected patients. Their strength and resilience toward beating cancer was what inspired me to be part of this campaign and encourage support for blood cancer patients globally.
I warmly invite you to join us in supporting our team and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your involvement means more than you know—it's not just about contributing to the search for a cure; it's also about making a direct impact on the lives of people battling blood cancers worldwide, and improving their quality of life.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
