Hello! I'm Manny. 

As somebody with a friend who was affected by blood cancer, fighting this disease in any way possible is important for me. Without the medical assistance that was available to him, I would not have a great DM, classmate, and friend who I rely on today. However, despite the advances in research, a crushing number of roughly 28,000 people aren't as lucky every year. This is why I am so proud to participate in this fight against cancer by being a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign and working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. By helping to secure funds for crucial life-saving research, I hope to aid LLS in realizing their vision of a better world free of blood cancers and reducing the number of people affected by this disease to zero. 

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS will realize their vision through these key ways:

• Funding cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Providing free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizing thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
