I am beyond excited to be joining the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year campaign! My team, Strive For Lives, hopes to raise $20,000 to fund research for blood cancers. 

I joined this campaign because my family knows what it is like to lose a loved one to blood cancer. My uncle passed away from blood cancer before I could ever meet him. He was a wise and kind soul, a selfless pediatrician, often providing medical care free of charge. I often imagine what it would be like to meet him and learn from him. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, son, and uncle.

LLS's mission inspires me. It tells my family and many others that there is hope, hope for patients diagnosed with blood cancer and their friends and family. Knowing that a great portion of LLS's funds go towards funding research for pediatric blood cancers reassures me. LLS funds the most promising blood cancer research across the globe and forges collaborations to accelerate new discoveries, treatments, and cures. With a more than 70-year track record, LLS has supported virtually every advancement in blood cancer treatment – including approaches once thought impossible. LLS is striving to raise $175 million to reimagine the standard of care for pediatric blood cancer through the Dare to Dream Project. Our vision is to move toward effective, safe treatments that target cancer precisely without harming the rest of the child’s body.

Knowing that this is a part of their mission makes me eager to support the cause. I can rest assured, knowing that working for research on pediatric blood cancers would have been something my uncle would have wholeheartedly supported.

• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
