Warriors For Hope

Apr 28, 2021

Hello everyone, I am so honored this year to be a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Students of the Year campaign. I am a senior at Chelsea High School and I will be attending Auburn University this Fall. Among participating in LLS I am involved in Student Government, Peer Helpers, and National Honor Society. I enjoy playing golf in my free time and watching old tv shows such as The Andy Griffith Show or I Love Lucy.

LLS is a great organization that challenges individuals to raise awareness about blood cancer patients and their families. Two years ago I knew nothing about the great work LLS does, but after joining a team not only was I invested in the cause, but I wanted to challenge myself to do more. Seeing our honored heroes and hearing their stories has further my perspective and overall has made me more appreciative in life. When presented with the opportunity to become a candidate I thought heavily on my team name. Ultimately I chose the name Warriors for Hope because I believe hope is one of the strongest sentiments a person can feel and recognize. When you are fighting these deadly diseases sometimes families only have hope. I want my team and every individual to be a Warrior for Hope.

Although I am competing against other candidates, my mission for this campaign is ultimately to raise awareness and to show the strength of the many individuals fighting blood cancer. To use my platform in any way to advocate for others is not only a gift but a privilege. Participating in Students of the Year is one small challenge that I hope shows the daily struggles that our honored heroes and many other blood cancer patients go through on a daily basis.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Every dollar is a vote for my campaign!

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
