THE HUNTER     

My name is Ari Looney. I am a 16 year old Junior at Douglas S. Freeman high school in Richmond, Virginia. I'm a student-athlete at my school being a 3 year member of the varsity tennis team. I'm an avid hunter and fisherman and could spend all day in the ocean surfing with my older brother!

Last year my uncle, Jonathan Blank, was the Man of the Year for the Virginia Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He set the record amount of money raised during the campaign which went to help so many patients and families fighting blood cancers. Being the assistant campaign manager I had plenty of opportunities to watch my uncle put forth so much time and energy into something that is so important to my family and to many others. Participating in this journey greatly inspired me.

THE HUNT     

I am honored to be participating in the 2018 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative, beginning on February 2, in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am raising critical dollars in honor of all those who are currently battling or are in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate who recieves the most votes at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. My mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers.

THE TROPHY     

Lets end this with a Bang! I may be the candidate for the Student of the Year, but the real hero is YOU! It is your support and your donations that drive this campaign. You are the one saving lives and helping diminish the chances of getting blood cancers. On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
