2018 ATX Students of the Year
Elena Hauser | Elena Hauser's Campaign Team
Welcome to Elena Hauser's SOY Fundraising Page!
I am excited to tell you that the South Central Texas Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LSS) has nominated me as a candidate in the annual Students of the Year fundraising campaign. I am asking for your support.
The Students of the Year Campaign is a seven-week fundraising competition in which high school students who demonstrate qualities of leadership, volunteerism, philanthropy, and community engagement raise funds to benefit LLS’s mission of finding a cure for blood cancer.
The campaign begins on January 11, 2018, and ends with a Grand Finale Celebration on March 2nd where Austin’s Student of the Year will be announced. Every dollar I raise counts as a “vote” towards my campaign, and the Student with the most “votes” will be named the Student of the Year.
The SoY campaign is held each year in honor of a boy or girl who are surviving blood cancer. This year’s Honored Hero is 8-year-old Roel. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March of 2011, before the age of two. Today, thanks to advancements in research funded by LLS, Roel is a healthy eight year old, six and a half years in remission.
I’ve been inspired to help find a cure for blood cancer by examples like Roel and others, and as I’ve learned more and gotten more involved. I hope my campaign will create awareness, and I want to make as big difference as possible. Which means I need your help!
I would appreciate any help you can give and I also that you give in whatever capacity you feel comfortable with. You can also help raise funds by inviting others to donate and inquiring with your employer about corporate matching programs.
Please reach out to me directly if you would like to attend our campaign-ending Grand Finale Celebration, or if you would like to discuss sponsorships, silent auction donations, or Gala night table donations.
Everyone wins when cancer loses and your gift makes a difference! Thank you so much for your help!
2018 Honored Hero: Roel

My wonderful uncle made such an impact on so many young lives as a Pediatrician. He was a servant of God and always had time for his children, nieces and nephews. Miss you so much.
