Nine years ago, Furniture Fair made the choice to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and it's mission to find cures, today, by funding blood cancer research and patient access. Furniture Fair's own Ed Hartman was affected personally by the disease when his granddaughter, Karmen, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since that time, through participation in Light the Night and The Furniture Fair Celebrity Golf Event, the employees, partners and customers of Furniture Fair have contributed $877,770 to fund research and patient access through LLS. Our goal is to go over the $1 million mark. Please help us to achieve this lofty goal!
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
