Three letters changed my life & shattered my heart – AML! After a 2 ½ year battle I lost the love of my life, Michael Jon Sharpe, to this brutal disease. I am determined to wage war on AML – (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia) so someday… another person doesn’t lose their soulmate, another parent doesn’t mourn their child passing before them, another child doesn’t grow up without their mom/dad, another sister/brother doesn’t have to miss their sibling, another person doesn’t suffer the loss of their best friend… There is a weapon which will help win the fight – THE BEAT AML CAMPAIGN!

In the last 30 years the treatment for AML has not changed and the survival rates remain the lowest of all blood cancers at under 25%. This must change and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to making sure it does!

We are so excited about Beat AML - an ambitious 3 year, $8.3 million campaign currently in progress and led by Dr. Brian Druker who is renowned for developing the drug Gleevec that is literally saving thousands of patients diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). In attacking AML, Dr. Druker will lead an unprecedented, multi-institution collaboration involving academic, bio/pharma and technology partners.

The program is ambitious: enroll 900 patients during the next three years, discover the genetic mutations that drive AML, test combinations of therapies, discover precision treatments and give hope to families diagnosed with this disease! This hasn’t been accomplished in 30 years.

But that is going to change - someday truly is today! By making a 100% tax deductible donation to BEAT AML – the entire amount donated will go to AML Research and you will join the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Dr. Druker and Mike’s Ohana in our battle against AML. Together… we can truly advance science & save lives!
