Jack Allen’s Kitchen is back to host its second annual Charitable Fishing Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas, benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The tournament will take place from Sunday, September 18 through Tuesday, September 20. Teams will consist of three people per boat, plus a captain.

There will be three ways to register for a team. The cost is 1) $750 a pole for individual registration (if registering team members not specified, individuals will be randomly assigned to a team of three); 2) $2250 for three with boat and captain provided; or 3) $2250 for a boat of three who will provide their own boat and captain.

All proceeds will go directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Cost includes a one or two-night stay at the Emerald Beach Hotel, Sunday evening happy hour to greet guests, breakfast on the boat Monday morning, and a lunch buffet and award presentation with prizes on Monday afternoon.

A huge thank you to our sponsors: Bass Pro Shop, Cruzan, Emerald Beach Hotel, E&J Gallo Winery, Southern Glazer’s, Hill Country Dairies, Mighty Swell sparkling cocktails, Sauza, Spec's, Sysco, Tito’s Vodka, and TX Whiskey. There wouldn’t be a JAK Fishing Tournament without y’all!

Why we are doing this?  To support Caitlyn... and others like her.

 Caitlyn Kirby

In January of 2007, at the age of 13, Caitlyn Kirby, Tim Kirby’s daughter, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) with a survival rate of 76%. After 2-1/2 years of surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and much prayer, the cancer was gone. Caitlyn is currently in remission and is a senior at Abilene Christian University. She is an Education major & planning to be a teacher.

Vickie Klein

Jack Gilmore’s sister-in-law, Vickie Klein, is a Multiple Myeloma survivor.  She was diagnosed in 1999 and underwent six months each with 96 hours of chemotherapy and then six days of heavy chemotherapy at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio to wipe out her immune system before successfully receiving a Bone Marrow Transplant. She then received a study drug to help with remission. Because of an amazing amount of faith and strength, she was able to see both of her children marry and is currently enjoying retirement by spoiling her granddaughter and awaiting the arrival of her grandson. She is also actively involved to help raise money for more awareness and research to help others.
