ABOUT LLS
LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research to advance blood cancer therapies and save lives, but we will not be satisfied until we find a cure. Last year alone, LLS invested approximately $70 million in cutting-edge research and our work is not done.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
MAN & WOMAN OF THE YEAR - ALL STAR
LLS’ Man & Woman of the Year All Stars campaign is a fundraising competition among a select group of Man & Woman of the Year alumni. One former Man and one former Woman of the Year candidate may be chosen to represent their local market as the All Star Alum for that fiscal year. While each All Star conducts their own campaign with their personal campaign team, All Stars are united by one goal: to use their leadership skills to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives. Bill was nominated to represent The Rocky Mountain Chapter in this year’s competition. The male and female All Star alumni who raise the most funds during the campaign are named the National Man & Woman of the Year All Stars!
Bill’s fundraising campaign will run from Friday, March 11th until Saturday, May 21st.
