Welcome to Lakeview Day Camp's
Laps for Leukemia Event
Make a WAVE in the fight against blood cancer.
On Friday, August 7, 2015 Lakeview Day Camp will be continuing their life-saving tradition of swimming “Laps for Leukemia”. The event will be held during each age groups instructional swim. Last year, Lakeview was able to raise a remarkable $11,766.00.
Laps for Leukemia is one day event where swimmers are encouraged to ask friends and family to either make a pledge per lap they swim or a flat donation in honor of local NJ patients battling blood cancer. If an individual raises $50, they will receive a t-shirt! An ice cream party is rewarded to teams that raise $600! All funds raised will directly benefit New Jersey Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and are tax deductible.
Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They are even being tested in clinical trials for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers.
