My inspiration for the work that I do for LLS is my grandson. In 2008, our then three year old grandson, Jack, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Thankfully there was a 2 year chemotherapy protocol which he responded to. We are grateful for his remission.

The note below from my daughter Stephanie sums up why I keep going:

"My mom likes bridge. Bridges, really. Her idea of a fun “bridge game” is walking over the Verrazano Bridge to the 59^th Street Bridge all in a morning. She plans to do this as she walks the New York City Marathon on November 1, at age 77, for the second time in her life. She walks as a participant with Team In Training, raising funds to support research finding cures for cancer. People like my mom, walked and ran with TNT for years, and when my brother’s son was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 3, there was a life-saving chemotherapy protocol that saved his life. Now my mom walks for others, so that the research can continue, and others in the future will have the treatment therapies they need, if handed a life-threatening diagnosis. Now, I walk too."
