Hey there!
We Glews have participated in the Big Climb for a while now, and we're so excited for year 3 of the Big Climb Philly! My family and I are very committed to this cause, so when we moved to Philadelphia in 2014 for the awesome care at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, my brother, Duncan got the idea to start a climb here. After working for many months with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the idea became a reality. The BCP has had major success as a new event two years in a row, and now it's time to do it again! On May 19, 2018, hundreds of climbers will ascend 1065 steps to the top of the FMC tower to HELP CURE CANCER.
Duncan was diagnosed with leukemia in November of 2012, and underwent extremely tough chemotherapy until March 20 of this year. Thankfully, he is done with chemo! However, the treatment still affects him. His knees are severely damaged so that running, jumping, or putting too much stress on them could destroy the thin bone he has left. My brother's knees are just one example of the harsh effects of chemotherapy. The entire cancer experience has made us realize that there is a great need for better cancer treatment. Our goal is to help find it. If you would be so kind as to donate to my fundraising effort, I would be extremely grateful.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
