Hello friends and family,
Thank you for visiting my Big Climb Philly 2018 page. Your donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will fund treatments that save lives today and research into breakthrough therapies tomorrow.
I am participating in the Big Climb Philly to support my 17-year-old son, Duncan, who recently celebrated his two-year anniversary of completing leukemia treatment. Did you know that Duncan founded the Big Climb Philly while still undergoing chemotherapy? He wanted to make a big impact in the fight to cure cancer.
The Big Climb Philly funds research into innovative new therapies that will improve survival rates and reduce the side effects of today's chemotherapy. I encourage you to take a moment and watch this short video about some of the breakthrough research.
While traditional chemotherapy cured Duncan’s leukemia, his body paid a steep price. Duncan can no longer run track because of damage to his bones. And he is more susceptible to infection and headaches. So Duncan is highly motivated to invest in the development of targeted cancer treatments.
On behalf of Duncan and people everywhere battling, treating, and researching cancer, I thank you for your generosity!
