This is our team's second annual bowling tournament to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year we hope to reach similar heights as last year, when we raised over $1,200 and had a team member win a prestigious award (ahem, Josh Haroutunian, ahem, worst bowler).
We do this to honor the following individuals:
- Alex Huntoon, Chandra's cousin who beat Burkitt's lymphoma last year (go Alex!)
We firmly believe that the cure to cancer is closer than we think. And that LLS makes a huge impact in advancing those cures.
A few facts:
- 75 cents of every dollar goes to our mission to cure blood cancers and help patients and families.
- Last year alone, we gave over $1 million to patients in our area to help pay for their treatments.
- Treatments that were first discovered for blood cancers are now being used and tested for other forms of cancer like: brain, stomach, esophegeal, pancreatic, and breast cancers.
- LLS has funded $1 billion in research. The organization receives 1,000 grant applications each year and funds 70 of them. Help us fund more research!
