Our Hero's Story
All three of our lives have been touched by cancer. Eliza’s grandmother had breast cancer twice, and eventually passed away due to a metastasized tumor in her brain. Georgia’s best friend’s mother lost her battle with a cancer of unknown origin. However, Samantha's family has been through the throes of cancer and come out the other side. Her younger cousin, Brennan, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at age 4.
Following his diagnosis, his two years of treatment included 200 blood draws, 150 doses of IV chemotherapy, 80 days at the Jimmy Fund Clinic, 20 procedures done under anesthesia and 100s of at home nurse visits. It wasn’t just Brennan who had to endure this ordeal. Brennan’s family was separated for birthdays, holidays and countless other occasions. That being said, they remained positive and hopeful throughout his treatment with the help of the phenomenal hospital staff and the innovative new treatments.
The oncology department and the care they were able to provide made Brennan’s experience much shorter, safer, and bearable, than it would have been 15 years ago. Many of the strides made in cancer research have been funded by LLS and other similar organizations. The five year survival rates of leukemia patients has risen from 35% in 1977 to 65% in 2012. LLS in particular, along with funding research, makes an effort to provide help to families. In fact, LLS has distributed more than $323 million in co-pay financial assistance, and, in doing so, supported more than 74,600 patients. Because of the research funded by LLS, so many more cancer patients are able to be cured and we are delighted to say that Brennan is too!
By donating to our campaign, you are directly helping assist blood cancer patients and fund research to find more advanced treatments. Our fundraising ends March 2nd, so if you want to support this effort, please do so before then!
LLS Overview
An Overview of Our Campaign
Please join us in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to our fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, our efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.
And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit our Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere we thank you for your support!

I appreciate everything you guys are doing! I'm donating in honor of my aunt. A few years ago she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndrome, or "preleukemia". Today I'm happy to say she is in remission.

Your grandmother was a dear friend of mine and a very strong and brave woman. She would be so, so proud of you Eliza. You obviously take after her and your mother in caring for the needs of others. Best regards, Lisa Cain

My beautiful daughter passed away in 2016 during her second bout with her fourth kind of cancer. I hope this donation helps save others the kind of pain she faced throughout her young life. She was originally diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 16.

my 10-yr-old grandson who was diagnosed in 2012 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In 2014 Brennan finished treatment and was declared in remission. We have seen first hand the results of cancer research and we are indeed grateful. You three young women are an inspiration as you spend time to promote cancer research. Your hearts and actions are certainly in the right place.
Elsie Kloeppel
So proud of you guys!

As early death from accident, infectious disease, and heart disease declines, cancer is increasingly prevalent. It has always been there, and there is much to be better understood about the biology of cancer. Recent therapeutic interventions give hope that we can defeat cancer. I am personally working toward that goal, using evolutionary biology to quantify the causes of cancer and the consequences of therapeutic intervention. Raising funds to support research is an outstanding way to make a difference. I am happy to contribute to this effort.

Thanks for raising money to fight leukemia. My brother Tim is fighting for his life after his second lung transplant. His lungs failed several years ago as a result of graft vs host disease, a residual effect of the bone marrow transplant he received to rid him of acute myeloid leukemia. I donating in his honor and in honor of everyone who has been affected by this disease.

My childhood BFF's little brother was the sweetest thing, always around whenever I was over at their house. Last year he died from cancer at 60 (too young), and my donation is in his memory. I lived through cancer myself, 8 years ago. And it is due to all the people who worked on this before it happened to me. So this donation is also in honor of all of them.
