The Students of the Year Campaign is a seven-week initiative in which students from around the Gateway Chapter participate in a fundraising competition to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Candidates will raise money in honor of our honored heroes, Johnny & Alexia, our 2018 Boy and Girl of the Year. During the campaign $1 = 1 vote. The candidate who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year! Staff members from LLS will guide candidates through the whole process helping them build a strong team, strategize in fundraising methods, and make connections.

The event kicks off on February 16, 2018 at The Cheshire. Throughout the competition the fundraising totals of the candidates are kept TOP SECRET! The big reveal happens on April 6, 2018 when the competition comes to a close with the Grand Finale Gala also held at The Cheshire. The gala is a cocktail attire complete with delicious food and drinks, a live and silent auction, and the crowning of the winner!

2017 Student of the Year, Riley Juenger

Every dollar raised is another step closer to finding a cure for cancer. Students can push themselves to reach $50,000. Once they hit this ambitious goal, they can designate their fundraising to a specific research portfolio towards the cancer research/treatment of their choice. As an added bonus the Student of the Year winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship to the college or university of his/her choice.
