Welcome to Friends For A Cure's SOY Fundraising Page!
Hey friends!
Only 4 days in and we've already recieved enough love and support to keep our hearts happy forever! Thank you so much for the love that has already ensued and for the love that we know will continue to bless us through out the campaign!
So for this post we decided that we wanted to tell y'all some of the fun details from our campaign! First of all we have a theme song! Many of you may already know what it is if you have seen our super cute campaign t-shirts, but for those of you that don't, our theme song is Walking On Sunshine by Katrina & the Waves! Although the lyrics aren't exactly inspirational, we love the uplifting and happy attitude of the song and hope that that attitude manifests in us through out the campaign!
Another fun fact about us is that we have a theme color, which is yellow! We chose yellow for a multitude of reasons, but most importantly because it is the color for childhood cancer awareness ( well gold but it's pretty tricky to find a true gold t-shirt)! As much as we hate to admit it, we are stepping off of our archetypal teenage pedestals to say that, Fine!, We ARE children and are in complete awe of the strength of children battling cancer and always want to support them as best we can. On a more shallow note, yellow is super uplifting and bright and we hope that when people see us in the yellow shirts, they get a little happier!
If you're feeling led to donate, please don't hold back! Every donaton, big and small, counts ad will effect our ultimate goal in the long run.
Thank you so much for reading!

Welcome to Friends For A Cure's SOY Fundraising Page!
Hi friends and family!!!
Its Emma Loftin and Addison Kerns!! We are so honored to have been accepted to participate in the 2018 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are raising money in honor of our very close friend, Peyton Gully, who had been battling mixed ALL and AML for a year as of this week. She is the strongest person we know and is battling this with the most graceful attitude. We are also raising this money in honor of a patient hero, Alyssa Howell. My mission is to not only raise money, but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies, such as CAR-T, not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Peyton Gully is being treated with a LLS funded immunotherapy called CAR-T, which is what put her in remission! She has now had her second BMT and is waiting to see how her body accepts the new bone marrow.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer and we need your help!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

We are proud to support you in your efforts to raise money for LLS. Our gift remembers a young women who finished the Bermuda marathon with Jenny, although her lymphoma had relapsed already and she died 6 months later. Thank you for being leaders and teaching others about how they can make a positive difference in their communities. This gift will be matched an additional $250 from Thrivent Financial. Helping others brings me so much joy! I love opportunities where we get to portray Christ and shine a light on things that matter and are personal, such as LLS. Seeing how you all have provided love and support to your friend has really touched me and I couldn’t help but want to at least give back to all that you are doing!
